RUSSELL CHARLES MEANS
Hello, I’m Russell Means. I am a member of
the Oglala Lakota Tribe, was born on the
Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in 1939. I have
been an advocate for American Indian
rights throughout the 20th and 21st
centuries, bringing national attention
to the American Indian Movement. By
working with friends from different
backgrounds across the United States , I
helped spark meaningful conversations in
communities nationwide. During our
summer camp, I will help you champion
your voice with simple and powerful
conversations that will prepare you
to be the next camp counselor
in your community!
