THE SOUTH
The Southern United States is known for its complex and wide-ranging history,
warm hospitality, rich mix of cultures and traditions, and its economic and
geographic diversity.
There’s nowhere like the American South, with its unique blend of heritage,
activism, and resilience. Although the South was deeply intertwined with the
creation of the U.S., it also attempted to secede during the Civil War – changing
the trajectory of the South’s history forever. Despite its tumultuous past, the
South maintains a profound sense of pride and community, shaped by its
longstanding tradition of political activism and social reform.
